Modern Vanity

Mirror mirror on the wall,
who is the prettiest on
the instagram or on the
facebook wall?
waging wars and the battle
grounds are passe now.
Now the armor and swords are
the keys and tweets.
connected to the other side of
the world and totally disconnected
from the self.
everything is instant from fame to noodles
and confidence ,self-esteem are in puddles.
a robot to marry and a pillow
for a hug, and maybe download babies from the net.
Celebrating togetherness online,but
hardly saying love you to the special someone.
Sharing photos with the entire world,
but none who knows your heart,
friends from all the corners of the world,
no one to share the sorrow or to hug and
say everything is gonna be fine.
From a4 size waist to pouts in the selfies.
Diminished barriers between real and virtual.
from fashion to passion ,
education and nutrition
everything in the digital realm.
new era with new addictions
with set of its own identity crisis.
This is digital madness where we are
searching for peace and solace
with the click of a button.

This is indeed our sad reality. We've indeed resorted to touching screens instead of touching hearts. Keep Writing.

Truth be spoken! eloquently written, modern vanity indeed, man of us has fallen victim of such, lost ourselves in this digital age with hopes to connect with others.
