A Forbidden Love

For she is loved but can't be held, Since formalities don't allow us to meld. It's but a bond of the ages, Which has freed us from our cages. Will the system keep us away, Or will romance have its day. This is a taboo connection shrouded in mystery, Which shall remain with me for all of history. What to say has been said, This angel comforted me when I thought I was dead. It has been like being reborn from another, Not only is Shanta my therapist and love but she's also my mother. Now I fight for what can be, Not just me and her but we. Together we will see this through, Becoming that of something new.
