Freddie followed me like my own shadow It’s not been easy since he passed away My family don’t know that I’m depressed I’ve concealed my alcohol addiction The label I hide on the wine bottle I’m trying so much to go cold turkey but find it hard to get quality sleep ... Sabbatical dreams after quarantine - They told me of the psycho cat’s demise. When I go out for my daily walk the Eerie boardwalk creaks near the white sand beach I’m convinced that Freddie’s by my side as feline footprints appear on the damp sand Collaborate With Me Poetry Contest Sponsored by Kim Rodrigues 09/08/20

A beautiful tribute to your cat, Jan. Thanks for your kind comment re the Eternal Love footle. For some reason when I tried to comment on it, it would not "submit" so I'm taking this method to thank you. Bob

Great 'Twilight Zone' type fun, Jan!... By the way, have you seen any 'little green people' in your backyard lately, or 'mysterious lights blinking in the sky?' ~ UFO a-GO-GO

Your poem made me wonder how many cat owners have been frightened to death by their deceased cat? Good luck in the contest! Aloha! Rico

Perhaps his spirit is lingered still, and you are sensitive enough to communicate, who says its cant be done, I was channeling at the age of twelve, even before I knew the definition of the word. Be brave as the stars shine through your poetry and know he is still with you. Love and hugs xo

Our pets never really die as long as we keep them in our hearts, Jan. You used the required lines very creatively and I love the flow of your poem. Best wishes in the contest! Hugs, Carolyn
