Miserable Hot Summer

Sad unmoving air
Humidity wilts flowers
Animals search for water
Sauna-like setting
Barren ground is parched, dry, cracked
Miserable hot summer

I personally would rather sweat than freeze. From this descriptive write, I would say you object to the summer!

I usually love it, not this summer. This summer it has been so hot and stagnating, I am tired of it.

Iowa, right? I used to live there as you know. Remind me what part you are near? I was by Quad Cities! I enjoyed seeing this one reminding me of that terrible humidity.

I am in Kansas City, Kansas, so we have less water right now than Iowa.

Deftly done poetry, Caren. Succinct and superb. I enjoyed reading this. Although, I feel for the folks in Fresno, Cali. 19 straight days of above 100 degrees. Whew. Now that's caliente hot. Just like your poem. Love and hugs.

I am so glad I am not in Fresno. This may be my next poem, Freddie. Thank you!

It is the humidity that makes it so unbearable. Soon- it will be fall. Try to stay cool, as much as possible. ~ Brandy

I know Caren, we have it here too, just a few showers wouldn't go amiss

I have stopped watering, it's just too crazy, and does not last. I am still giving the bird baths water though.
