Mirrors

I hold your hands as face to face
We dare to look but not embrace
With mirrored thoughts we come to grips
The eyes make up for silent lips
They are reflecting both our hearts as pulses race

Dearest Paul, the immediate intimacy and beauty of your poem takes my breath away. I'm captivated by the mirror of emotions that intensify as "eyes make up for silent lips", and along with yours, my pulse races too. Your vivid emotional imagery brings me to the center of this magic moment. Your romantic pen is radiant! Such a potent package of poetic brevity, my inspiring friend. Warmest wishes and hugs.. ~Susan

OMG I clicked on like ten old poems looking for something I'd not read and I hit on this delightful one from long ago. You should redo it a bit and use it for the new Mirrors contest!! You wrote it on my birthday so maybe that is why I was not paying attention that day!! Oh to be 59 again!!

Thank you for going into all the trouble to find an unread poem of mine, Andrea; I understand how frustrating it can be:) Twitter & FB have a simple solution for that...clicking like! I've taken a break from contests - disappointed at how many are being run. Hey even 65 is still young! :) Regards // paul
