for Nette Onclaud's Finish In Ten Poetry Contest/ posted July 2, 2026
In the ripples of a lake when I waken at dawn’s break, a slice of lemon light I see cutting through the water blue. It gifts me solace with its sweet tranquility. Autumn’s hues fall brightly too alongside sun’s long yellow line inside this reservoir. I reflect on your love that once was mine and wonder – as always – where you are.
