Mirror Inner Girl
your oval little-girl face; running muck
ground was your undoings
shattered bottomless thing
though cold the glimmer on barbwire
remember your walk, darling girl
feet air out by dragging the glass
new when mirror image rests —
memory is just in the morning,
dark as footprints that still melt the frost,
and leaves that never stay on or off the ground.
