Mindgames, Figs and a Dictionary
“Mindgames, Figs and a Dictionary”
Have you ever wondered
where you’d be
if there were absolutely no
dictionaries?
You could make up almost any word
and give it any meaning.
Like Figs are jewels for chewing on
and words are really demons
with angel wings
to fly you straight towards the Light;
Mindgames become worlds
without rules
prison cells have no bars,
there exists no grubby plight,
everyone’s pure, kind and bright
no form or reason, just a new season
where new words
erase stories already written;
bin that trash, all the trash
that’s marked "Never to be Forgiven".
Teeth are beautiful pearls
but not necessary in our world,
it’s your Life that really counts,
marks out your time here
my beautiful girl;
Lefevre is just a name
for boilermaker,
who can warm a bath at night
Papillon’s just a big old butterfly
that makes your smile take flight
and mothers and daughters
are always standing together,
holding hands so very very tight,
it’s Love that’s Loyal, right? Well,
there is your greatest hidden might,
you, my sweet favourite Royal.
There are absolutely no more zoos;
spiderwebs and steel bars with locks
People could just be True.
Ink on pages turn into characters
who dance with you all night,
and kittens in their cradles are keening,
“I Love you Mum, it’s alright.”
You could cast a spell
on anyone who reads you
and they would love to steal your mind
peel you like a juicy mango
swallow all your thoughts
and dreams divine.
How would that be
if you could always
be within me,
never far away apart
hear my thumping heart beat
banging out glorious old rhyme…
explore the bejewelled wonders
and spooky caverns of my mind
and you could take away
with you forever,
whatever part you liked,
from time to time.
I have drawn you several maps
they mark uncharted territory
to discover when I’m a ghost;
I gift you all my kingdoms,
a key to all my magic mazes
I’ll forever be your haunting host
this I give you
all my dimensions gleaming
strange and labyrinthine
light and dark expanding
to all my kingdoms confounding
without conditions bled rebounding
Because I love you always,
“The Most”
you the shining light
I deliver treasures from my heart
made from the precious gold
mined from deepest deep dark night
Remember “Silver Fin”?
Shall I tell you a story?
Says ghost to her light
