Notes About The Poem

Mind the Paint

I imagine my mind as if an egg,
and inside is the true essence of me;
more  than just the power to move a leg,
inside is my past and thoughts filigree.

So, I think I will decorate my mind,
with mauve images and patterns whimsy;
I will be a fancy egg quite refined,
invisible-  but I will let you see.

Then, you will know my personality,
a girl subdued who likes to whirl and twirl;
I live my life with whimsicality,
but, in my mind sadness does unfurl.

Within is a path not always happy,
but I am a sweet egg-  not unhappy.

I will have to do MY "mind the wet paint" poem as free verse because as of yet, i have NO free verse for Hamilton's contest and free verse might be neat for this contest!!
