Notes About The Poem

Sweet mincemeat is used as a pie filling and is very delicious and fragrant.

Mincemeat

Mincemeat British sweet pie.
   Memories of Christmas,
      Mix dried fruits and spices,
         Mingle enough brandy
            Manage pastry in pie,
Mince put in pie and baked
                   Much aroma dessert.

As long as it is not actual meat. I love this kind of pie! Congrats on your win in my contest. Do they use meat? I heard it was so in England. Over here they use a kind of raisin filling

If the British use mince beef for their sweets, it's because they are crazy. Never in Malta. Hugs

I haven't had it anytime in my life. Seeing the image, I guess it tastes good. I don't think we have it here. A great entry for the contest. All the Best dear Victor.

I've never had mincemeat, Victor. But if you can add some brandy to it I might have a try at it (lol) Best wishes in the contest. Merry Christmas to you and your family! Charlie

your poem made me smile Victor as I have never been a fan of mincemeat/mince pies until this year when I tried one with flaked almonds on the top and it was sooooooo good i ate the second one, I have no idea where i can buy them as they were in a goodie bag at a Christmas event) (hubby got the 2 slices of Christmas cake I got the mince pies lol) sending love and hugs to you and the family:-) Jan xx

Mincemeat, in the U.S., traditionally includes deer meat. Surprise. Since I don't eat mammals, I will stick with apple pie.

There is meat in old mincemeat pie recipes. Lots of other stuff, too.

There is no meat in mincemeat for mince pies, only dried fruit and spice.

Dear Victor, This is a delightful poem that captures the warm, nostalgic essence of a classic British Christmas treat. The alliteration and rhythm give it a playful yet elegant touch, much like the luxurious blend of flavors in a mince pie, except one thing apart from the aroma I don't really like them, lol. However a delightful treat. So enjoy ...Hugs

Back in school we made mincemeat pie but I wasn’t a fan. Nice poem, though.
