Milly Madness

My mum was given a cat Who had apparently lived wild Told she had a few issues Supposedly mild … So this beautiful fluffy grey cat With eyes of emerald green Resided with my husband and l New member of our family and routine Milly was her name A “few” issues they said That was putting it mildly Milly was completely bonkers instead If Milly ever sat on anyones lap She would continually suck on their clothes Leaving large wet patches Why …..who knows? First few weeks of arriving in her new home She slept on on our bed That didn’t last long As she insisted literally on sleeping on our heads So at night we would shut our bedroom door Milly would scratch on the door throughout the night We were getting very little sleep Off to work in the mornings not feeling too bright Milly did so many crazy wild things The list was varied and lengthy Unbeknown one day she got in my sisters car Ate the fresh hot chicken that was for the family Though the incident that really sticks in my mind Milly stole fish defrosting for dinner that night She jumped up, grabbed the cling wrapped fish Ran and was gone in moments….out of sight The next morning was quite interesting Milly had a huge piece of poo covered cling wrap hanging out her bum Unable to gently remove it The vet was contacted to see what needed to be done Feed her olive oil they said As her bowel may be wrapped in the plastic It will then pass naturally Which it did……Fantastic!!

Hi Deb. Love this Milly of yours! Reminds me of many stories of feral cats I've encountered. One stayed with me till her tragic death when she was just 17. I love all the crazy kitties! :)

I don't mind the "Little Owl" at all, in fact, I like it! I think I've even signed comments to some of your poems as "LO". LOL :)

Commenting on Milly is just superfluous, Deb M. A real corker, that Milly.

Sounds like one crazy cat. But if you ask me, every cat is a crazy cat. I hope everything works out for you, my friend.

Hey, Deb… this Milly of yours… did she by any chance give birth to two mischievous little kittens? She sounds like a bundle of fun disguised as a nightmare. Bet you still loved her to bits. Smashing poem. Terry

I’ve already written that story Deb. Just been double checking it to make sure there’s nothing that might cause offence. It seems okay to me… watch this space!

Well, Milly sounds like a handful of a cat. I once 'adopted' a Ferrell cat. She was wild from the get go. After about two months, she was gone...still don't know where. Seems you can take the cat of the wild but not the wild out of the cat :-)

I know it was a bit intrusive of her to sleep on your head but she wanted to be near. After having been feral, that’s surprising. Btw… I’m not confused ;-)

Absolutely! I think being in the wild had made her somewhat bonkers! Ha
