Milk

"MILK"
Thirst comes at 3am a wake, you are immersed in an Ocean Dreams broken Thirst calls you Heat takes you 3am Milk A cold tall glass chilled slowly swallowed Face fronting a fridge coolness runs it's length of you naked, door is open 3am Milk sculled it's coolness drips down your neck past your heart to you know where... there, yeah, right there Time turns you around fully naked, words form to sound up against a door freedom found 3am Milk Vanilla He takes you Heat calls you You're an open fridge coolness wraps its legs around you You cry out with your lips swollen around a neck, the bottle frozen melts He says, “Providence, Trust is a token" You say, “Love, trust is not a token", safe word, “Broken” Thirst comes at 3am Awake, You are fully immersed in THE Deep Dark Ocean Love Trust Bonded Broken (LadyLabyrinth/2019)
“A little morphine in all the air. It would be wonderfully refreshing for everyone.” D.H. Lawrence, Lady Chatterley's Lover

It's way out there for some, I'm afraid. lol...I was thinking after reading quite a lot of the short stories here in Poetry Soup over the past few weeks, why the short story section is shunted out of the awards categories. There are some brilliant writers here, whose genre is not specifically poetry, but leaning more towards novella/novels. It's quite stunning the calibre of short story/fiction writers I have read so far. Thanks for your comment. Directing now to Joe Dimino Short Story Section. L x

“What liars POETS and everybody were. They made one think one wanted sentiment. When what one supremely wanted was this piercing, consuming, rather awful sensuality.” D.H. Lawrence, Lady Chatterley's Lover

“How she hated words, always coming between her and her life: they did the ravishing, if anything did: ready-made words and phrases, sucking all the live-sap out of living things.” D.H. Lawrence, Lady Chatterley's Lover
