Mike Douglas
Fabulous fame and fortune would be your attainment
as you became a household name in entertainment.
We would see you on television five days a week.
Your pleasant voice and demeanor is what we would seek.
For years from Cleveland, LA, and Philadelphia,
the stars appearing on your show were a plethora.
You did the voice of Prince Charming in Cinderella.
You were great when you sang with Kay Kyser’s orchestra.
The hit songs you had included “Ole Buttermilk Sky”.
“The Men In My Little Girl’s Life” took your fame quite high.
Things you did with your show were a great accomplishment.
Everyone missed you when you went into retirement.
On this sad occasion, the angels took you away.
You left us on the earth on your eighty-first birthday.
