Midnight Starlight
On a cold spring night
As I traveled home
Veiled in the dark
Cloaked in stars
My mind just a blank
As I stared off into space.
Sprinkled across a darken sky
When the sun says good night
They illuminate the darkness
Like a million candles that flicker in the dark.
Constellations of every form
When you take a closer look
Connecting the dots one at a time
To see what takes shape.
How many cover our sky?
How many can you count in a night?
How many can you remember
Even when they fade away
At the stroke of dawn?
There are stars that stay where they are
There are those that change their position
There are those that take another path
Then there are those that shine
That glows brighter than fire
That bring beauty to the night.
