This is frightening! I hope the size of this hail was a slight exaggeration.

I've seen hail as big as golf balls, but never tennis balls or grapefruit.

Some years ago we had a hail storm that caused extensive damage to cars and esp ecially to hot houses. Hail size was that of golf balls! Next time wear a hared hat and put your car in a garage. / Maurice

They fall as hard as rocks from the sky often with little warning. The last time I was caught in a storm like that was many years ago in Southern California, believe it or not. We were on the freeway and all traffic came to a halt until it passed. It is very scary. Your poem brought back that forgotten memory. Thank you. Blessings xxoo

Thanks for the memory, Connie. Yes, hail comes quick and can do a lot of damage, especially to vehicles, and then just as quickly vanishes.
