Meteor Shower

Your stars are falling gracefully,
but mine are crashing.
Your resentment is painfully justified.
But my love is too.

thoughts swarm the universe
the world I created in my own head
where you read me your verse
and I add another

a world where I don’t have to wait
for your stars to follow mine
Or some sort of fairytale fate
because we’re effortlessly aligned

I tell you
“my thoughts are like a meteor shower”
you tell me
“meteors crash”

But they’re also radiant
creating a beam that’s hard to ignore
so I don’t mind if we crash
even if you embed your stars into my mind

Thanks for sharing this... exposing your thoughts through your unique poetic style. Welcome to Poetry Soup. I welcome you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Be blessed.
