Messengers of Rage

You hear them everywhere,
spewing their venomous words of hate
And if you're like me,
     a lover of peace
Then I implore you, do not take the bait

You see them ubiquitously,
their angry images on electromagnetic waves
And if you're akin to me,
     a lover of tranquility
I beg of you, don't succumb to their beastly raves

They're always just a touch away ---
from your laptop, cell phone or tablet
Sending subliminal toxic rhetoric,
spread by way of the digital alphabet

Their violent words are as contagious
as the most virulent Ebola strain
Don't let them seep into your heart,
don't let them circulate to your brain

It's a nasty virus packed full
     of strident malevolency
Attacking the body politic
     with vitriolic intensity
Your soul's not immune
     from its poisonous effect
So purge, then delete
     and mentally disconnect

Infection's assured if exposed too long,
a final warning issued to link disengage
Or you will fall sway to the siren song
transmitted by the messengers of rage

This one reminds me of a Queen song I recently shared. 'Another One Bites The Dust', I'm sure you have heard of it. Also, And answering your question about forms. It's not that I try to wrap my head around the various forms. They appear as pieces of a puzzle to me. Often I go back and read the poetry myself and see bits of myself, I didn't even realize were there. Peace!

You have an intricate mind to be able to put the puzzle pieces of the those diverse poetic forms together. I'm always amazed by what you and so many other gifted poets/poetesses on this site can do. Y'all are amazing in my eyes. Ty for shedding some insight, Steven. Much love to you my brother.

Some of them are just so damn persistent RW. How many times must one say the words, I'm not interested! They just keep spewing on until you are forced to simply hang up on them. Nicely done Freddie. /|\
