Merlin the Magic Cat
in frosty winter I visited my son in sunny California!
met Merlin, an unexpected, but very special guest,
perched right on top of his desk, watching master diligently,
checking the computer screen often for meeting updates.
"who is this friend - chubby ball of grey fur?"
it was love at first sight …
he is soft and fluffy like a cloud,
cutest thing in the world, but very serious,
pretending to be a real computer expert!
in a few days it didn't take long to figure out,
who really the master is! unmindful owner
often too busy, forgets and skips his meals,
but Merlin keeps purring "meow" until his mission is complete.
the engrossed owner never remembers it's time
to take a well-deserved break, rest or an hour of sleep,
Merlin acts as his worrying mother from far,
with constant meows…no matter deadlines to keep!
Merlin is definitely the perfect company to watch soccer,
he would cast his spell for master's favourite team to win,
I genuinely wondered... is the Wizard of King Arthur back
to Silicon Valley, or an angel in disguise, for my child, indeed!
Notes: Merlin is a mythical figure prominently featured in the legend of King Arthur and best known as a magic man, among his various other roles (Wikipedia)
