Men No Pause
I'm a very patient woman,
but it seems most men no pause
They want to taste the wedding cake
on the first date
They want to eat it all
I try to tell them it takes patience
to form a special bond
Creating a loving relationship:
you don't guzzle, you sip
and just savor it
Let it settle in your heart for a while
Press pause ...
you might even enjoy rewinding it a bit
A bed of love must be prepared first,
and it takes time
Laying a solid foundation down
requires doing some groundwork
So sit ... and just talk
Don't try to rush this
Them men no pause,
be in a heated hurry
to get a quick pleasure fix
They not down with ever getting lovesick
Feeling feverish ... they don't wanna have to wait
for that marriage healing balm
Sacred vows held by joined palms
Men no pause ain't nothing but a hot flash
that won't last
Recognizing this instantly,
gets them tossed back in the water quickly
But I know there are some rare fishes in the sea,
still swimming free ... who are spiritually older than me
And have waited even more patiently
Their sunset glows brilliantly
with golden rays of sunshine
Wisdom gleaned in life,
aged like fine wine
