Memory of May First

To give a correct memory to May
On my computer’s Internet I look
Where I find stories of courageous way.

And in my mind I see remind to shook
Grave and dignified people to protest
In the painted cover of an old book.

But against them violence addressed
The legal power serving their boss
Which for law and order there messed.

When workers with police got across
Were shot abruptly with fear and dismay
Although they asked to fulfil a loss.

When was estabilshed then the labor day?
The Knights of Labor people’s work to honor
As date picked up the first day of May.

You need to spell "courageous" correctly. Other than that, it is very good.

Thank you Julia. It is a real pleasure to receive attention and to be able to fix mistakes like that. I am habitually quite attentive to the correct spelling but sometimes I am disgraphic with the fingerboard. Tanks for coming

Wow a wondrful splendid poem on workers day 1st May and u captured the scenes swell. The day must evoke feelings and ideas of their status quo and so the right's battles. Thumbs up.

Hi Mario, Although we celebrate Labor Day in September in the U.S., the scenes you described play out here as well. Nowadays, however, people seem to be having more problems with "law and order" police than they have with their employers. Hail to the working people worldwide! Enjoyed your poem, Carolyn

Thank you, Carolyn, for the comment I appreciate much. As a matter of fact, my story refers to USA, although the feast is only outside. It is a strange thing, but it is so

I know that in USA the date of first May has no meaning although the event was at Haymarket and gave this suggestion to Europe. Thanks to you, great Andrea, for coming

Thank you Richard, in Europe we have the "holiday of work" on May first after an event occurred in United States

Mario, so true many made May Day into a day of protests and violence instead of the joy of summer arriving, they ruined the day with their chanting and fighting for labour rights, well done poem, 7, and thanks for visiting my poem, stars and scars
