Memories and Old Melodies

Tonight, as I gaze at a blood red moon in the sky,
I hear the rhythmic pattering of gentle rains.
Memories and old melodies, I recall with a sigh,
as the sweet fragrance of red roses remains.
I hear the rhythmic pattering of gentle rains.
I'm reminded of another time and another day,
as the sweet fragrance of red roses remains.
The day he proposed with a crimson bouquet.
I'm reminded of another time and another day.
With his love declared, I wanted nothing more.
The day he proposed with a crimson bouquet
and the velvety petals that made my heart soar.
With his love declared, I wanted nothing more.
But now, the sugared scent of blooming roses,
and the velvety petals that made my heart soar,
cause my heart to ache. Oh, such pain it imposes.
But now, the sugared scent of blooming roses,
memories and old melodies, I recall with a sigh,
cause my heart to ache. Oh, such pain it imposes,
tonight, as I gaze at a blood red moon in the sky.
