Mellow Autumn

mellow autumn

golden fields of maize
 ripple 'neath a sapphire sky ~
  summer heartbeat slows

dry yellow cornstalks
 rustle in with autumn song ~
  frost adorns morning

fields of sunflowers
 reflect the mellow sunlight ~
  orange leaves samba

harvest bounty waltz
 with sweet pears and saffron quince ~
  tawny acorn fall

amber harvest moon
 wears the pumpkins carrot blush ~
  autumn fire crackles

autumn wears a gown
 graced with soft harvest garlands ~
  butterflies fly south
