Meant To Be Together
Standing on that corner
waiting on a hard life to change
Staring off into a distance
under a full-lit moon
could have gone in another direction
could have gone to another place
could have taken shelter in frigid arms
or could have looked for another face
but then I would have never gotten a chance
a chance to gaze into those loving eyes
a chance to bask in your warmth
walk hand in hand with you
on a journey through life
That night the moon had spoken
the night it made me see
we were meant to be together
it is always you and me
for you are
always in my heart
always in my mind
I'll never try to change directions
never leave without goodbye
never take your love for granted
for you're the one who caught my eye
before I graced your presence
before you made me sigh
before my nights were golden
before I floated high
I never wished for happy endings
never cared about the hereafter
didn't dream of new tomorrow's
but since the day I heard your laughter
that day I kissed your heart
was a day I will remember
a day, that forever, was to start
