Meal Ordeal Brevity

As I approached the doorway my heart went rat-a-tat-tat,
Just thinking about stepping onto the old welcome mat.
Because recently I ate way too much, and became too fat
Which, unfortunately meant that I was worth looking at.
So I planned on exercising in order to look more flat,
By ignoring the world like a selfish brat,
And once I made that decision, I stood pat.
For if I didn’t I’d be the first one that goes splat,
When scurrying out of the wall and getting caught by the cat!
