Me and You In the Canoe

Come, let's build a canoe,
We'll float away
just me and you 
We'll float down stream
Upon the water,
Flickers of light
In our hair
My daughter
My little daughter
A poet too
An artist
May our dreams
Come true!
Floating along,
The streams 
sweet song
Of voices of
forever long
Petals floating
beside the canoe
Many poets
Sailed here once too
We watch as we
float past the trees
Redwoods vast
and meadows green
Embracing life
In joy serene
Nodding flowers
watch
The meandering stream
And me
and you
In our
Canoe

I loved the nodding flowers and could imagine those floating petals beside the canoe. It has often been that way, watching my sweet daughter pick up a pen and write from her heart. It really is a sweet ride along the stream with this precious young bubbling soul.
