May Showers

My umbrella helps keep me totally dry
As torrential May showers fall from up high
Yet soon I see a rainbow and azure blue sky

Showers provide moisture to water our plants
How the seedlings grow, in the warm winds they dance
Our gardens are bursting with colours so bright
With pretty pansies smiling, oh what a delight
Earth needs precious rain and I love the petrichor
Rising from the soil it’s a scent I adore
So I really appreciate May showers (but hope they don’t last for many hours!)

This is a fine lovely acrostic, Jan, and I like how you solved the rhyme scheme by using internal rhyme in the end line. Hugs // paul

Good Morning Jan. The format is in wonderful form and execution. The words give an innocent tone that is very appealing. They also show and reveal the good of the rain. Well done entirely. Good luck with the contest.

Seven from those who speak of Heaven - and showers of blessings! Thanks, Jan, for a wonderful Acrostic and I was jovially called a pansy at some point in the US. "They are humble, early Spring arrivals, but they can outlast most humans during summer." Loved this message entirely - even when we ask the showers to end. Shalom ShalomJA
