May Showers

This May we're asking for no showers.
We've had enough for all our flowers.

March and April have been wet,
Crops are as soaked as they can get.

We're wanting now, to see the sun
And hoping rain and wind is done.

We pray May showers can wait to pour
In mid-July when needed more.

This week is supposed to be real warm spring weather. I am so ready for it. Thank you for reading and responding to it. Love, Joyce

What a lovely and charming write! I can hear my little peepers as I type this, one of my favorite parts of spring, and they've had as much of the cold as I have ... we're all quite ready for warmth here in Maine! Enjoyed this very much!

Hi Joyce, a class of 12/13 year olds just wrote, read, and discussed your poem, great write, "it was good", "weird how the seasons in Australia are all opposite", "very descriptive" "easy to understand". thanks.

It stormed here today, Joyce, and I loved it. I hope you get the weather you want. Nicely written couplets.
