Mary and Martha

Martha was busy with food to prepare
as Mary sat so intently aware
     while Jesus was teaching,
     with Martha beseeching,
“Tell her to help me, this labour to share."

Jesus responded, “Martha you worry,
you busy about all in a flurry.
     Mary's offering praise
     with devotional gaze.
She's chosen aright. Abandon the hurry.”

Luke 10.38-42

Well done, Lisle! You are very good at taking Bible stories and putting them into limerick form! Blessings, Kim M
