Marksmen Valentine

Triggers are red,
barrels are blue.
Smith and Wesson
I love you!

Targets are set,
guns are sighted.
In my hand,
I get excited!

Bore snakes out
Hoppe’s too
be good to them
they’ll be good to you!

NB: I have a great photo of my grandson's team with their SCTP Nationals Trap Shooting trophies, but PS will not allow me to upload it. Your loss. LOL. There are no shotguns in the picture, but a depiction of one on the trophies. (I can upload any other picture from my library or off the Web, unless it shows guns or shooting - how very liberal. Pity, it is a great sport, as are other types of shooting competitions.)

Since my youth, we hunted for necessary purposes and never for sport, albeit, Hawaii's a strong blue state, officially sanctioned hunts are made to maintain the feral population. Most kills will go to the slaughterhouse freezers, and most of them are then distributed to soup kitchens. My compliments to your grandson and your fine rhyming, Linda, Aloha, William

Aloha William. No sport hunting in my family either. A fond memory is Thanksgiving and Christmas when the uncles would provide venison roasts, pheasants, turkeys, and others. I hunted with my father since I was 2, although I didn't start shooting until 5. Thanks for the supportive words for grandson - I'll pass them along to him. He will appreciate it, I'm positive! aloha Linda

Nice one. The administration should recognise a murderous rifle from a sports one.

Thank you Victor. The boys got a kick out of it when I sent it to them! :)

People who don't know from guns... really don't know from guns!! It is an exciting sport. Oh, well.

Fear of the unknown, yeah. The boys love it. They've formed great friendships over the years. Even I participate. My favorite is sporting clays :). Thanks for stopping by and commenting gw! laf :)

I guess it's because guns are a trigger point (sorry) in today's world. All of my sons own guns but I don't. I'm counting on a burgler seeing me and running away screaming :) Take care.

LOL Ann. As is religion, politics, race, hunting, and a plethora of things that offend one being or another. I'm a live and let live kinda person. My father hunted, uncles, brother, and, and... We hunted, trapped, fished, trolled - whatever would put food on the table. My grandson has been competition shooting since he was 11 (now 17).
