Great women of and in power--like Maggie, Elizabeth I, Catherine the Great--never get their due it seems from [male] history-- MT saved Britain--I know cause I lived there before she took over and saved the national economy. Congrats Jan!

Nice tribute. Clever double rhyme, "Thacher" with "match her."

How awesome she was to become Britain's first prime minister. It gave a lot of little girls hope that they could strive for success and reach it, though we've yet to see a lady president. Some of us hope we live to see the day. A great tribute to an amazing lady, Jan!

There was an incident where it appeared Trump declined to shake Theresa May's hand, Jan. His feelings toward women and minorities are deeply disturbing.

Like it a lot, Jan. Margaret Thatcher was a real favorite of mine. Where is she now that Britain needs her, … where is her friend, Ronald Reagan, now that America needs him? Alas and alack, they don't make them like those two anymore, apparently... Britain will wind up with the nincompoop Corbyn, and America will get a socialist chauvinist like Gilleland, Kamala Harris, or Corey Booker. Pity what's happening to these two countries...Oh, well. Back to your poem: Nicely done! :) gw

If only we could turn back time and they were in power now Gershon, Ronald Dump and Theresa May will never match the Iron Lady and as for Corbyn perish the thought if he gets elected:-( hugs Jan xx

An excellent Clerihew, Jan. Margaret Thatcher made waves, ruffled unions and found the Falklands handy when needing a boost. Love her or hate her, she sure made history and still has a numerous following. Hugs // paul
