Mama's Surprise
My mama's belly sticks out far!
I cannot see a passing car
when walking with her on the street.
I wonder what she had to eat?
I think she has a lot of gas,
for when we lay on the soft grass
her tummy moves this way and that
most every time I touch or pat.
And mama wears shirts like a tent
when we are home or where we went,
because her buttons sometimes pop
when we run fast or skip and hop.
My mama said, today I'm three
and has a secret to tell me!
She put my hand on her big bump
and soon I felt a tiny lump.
Said big surprise is very near,
a brand new baby for you dear!
Its tiny foot was touching me
and soon, big sister I would be!
I ran and jumped on big my bed
then grabbed my Teddy, by his head,
and on my baby laid it there -
brought Teddy close for us to share!
