Maiden Voyage " the Rescue "

Titanic down
Lifeboats adrift
Many saved
Many missed

On the scene " The Carpathia "
To the saved ones
The real White Star
Off she steams
New York ahead
Leaving behind many dead

Pier 54 this saviour docks
As New Yorkers race to flock
To witness survivors of this tragic ship
On her Maiden Voyage did she trip

April 14th, 1912 she shone
April 15th, 1912 she was gone.

James! Great to see you, and thanks for reading some of my poems. :) I have been infatuated with the Titanic since as long as I can remember. The movie effected me so much I was haunted by it for months; still am. I feel like I must have been aboard I know it so well. excellent tribute, my new Scottish friend, love, Kristin

My grandmother, born in 1903 still cried about the Titanic when she told the story to me 45 years later. It was so tragic. But this is a happy ending for many. Nice write. God Bless. Love, Dane

Covered with chills after reading the last two lines. Although the movie's special effects and historical accuracy were laudable, your poetic account of these "Maiden Voyage" rouses far more interest for me. I do recall hearing there were several other ships in the area and that only one responded to the distress signals. Wish you had written the screenplay and chosen the cast for "The Titanic." Absolutely brilliant! Parts 1 & 2 go to my faves as do you as an author. Love, Carolyn
