Magic Carpet Ride
If you believe in magic,
come and take my hand.
We will escape what's tragic,
and stop trying to understand.
Leaving all of the chaos behind.
Taking everything that has been denied.
Belief and hope in whatever we find.
Fantasy comes alive, a magic carpet ride.
Soaring through an endless sky.
Fluffy white clouds soften the way.
Dodging heavenly bodies as we fly.
A universe of stars on display.
The carpet was being chased by the wind.
It's gusts continued to push us along.
Stars, brightly shimmered, as if sequined.
We rode on air currents, so strong.
The carpet protected us from any harm,
that could occur while up so high.
We were safe, no reason for alarm.
With no fear, we sailed through the sky.
All at once the carpet began to slowdown.
Turning around in the direction that we came.
Soon we would be back on the ground.
Neither of us would ever be the same.
How did it happen, did it happen at all?
We decided that we would not share.
Keeping the memory safe, to recall,
a magic carpet ride...way up there.
