Lying To Myself-Melting Snowball

Ravenous thoughts like moths eat ever larger holes in the fabric of my mind, while floundering, evening's slow retreat into darkening dusk sighs cold disparate release of the effete emotions I hide, as in the ebon sheet of quilted evening shadow, behind my conceit and feigned smile, I lie. To all that I greet on life's broken path I contrive sweet sentiment, as I complete my own deceit.

First of all I love the pattern of your poem - reminds me of a moth eating a hole into a fabric. Well everyone I guess has a public face and a private profile. So no one can be to blame. I love not only your poem which can apply to anyone but your forthrightness - Great write and a FAVE from me ...Maria :)

wow the ending had a strong impact, Ralph. It was good to see you. Never hear much from you anymore. I have had a very frustrating day and will just visit a few poets and call it a day. I am not even on my own computer because I can't seem to get mine to power on for me. It makes me very upset since my poems I have written for contests are on my files stored on my PC. Let me see if have seen your other recent poem or not.

Hi Andrea, sorry I have been so reclusive as of late. I feel for your difficult day, hope it gets better.
