Ludicrous Lament

Speak freely, the words that no one hears, your rights upended in passing years. Demand of your leaders, promises made, campaign trails, like snails, fade. Break from the mighty, purchased power, pocketed influence for every hour. Hold fast to those principles, fading out, crumbling ideals, swept clean with doubt. Mock of the mighty, this world unknown, can I call this freedom? Do I call this home?
