Like the brightness of the sun you do make me sneeze Upon making contact you even make me wheeze You also give me itchy watery eyes Like you, I swear I too have nine lives While playing you tend to get a little feisty and frisky Your behavior at times can be a bit risky A brush of your whiskers makes the children giggle Sometimes you'd rather sit still as opposed to the children who always wish to squirm and wiggle Your independence I've always admired Listening to your soft gentle pur I quickly grow tired With your affectionate nature my spirit quickly does lift Being a skilled hunter you bring home an occasional surprise gift I could do without the dead birds, squirrels and bunnies Our relationship was a bit sticky at first but you quickly melted my heart like honey As long as you're around no need to fret over mice I find that refreshing, it's rather quite nice You're not black but if you were I've never paid any mind to superstitions To this family you've made an excellent new addition The allergy medicine sometimes makes me a bit queasy It's well worth it my feline friend, loving you is easy
