Love's Mockery

I used a blunt knife, firmly carved against that throbbing piece Joy danced in agony. Oh, soothing metallic nectar! An undeniably addictive taste. One so costly as a life. Heaven forbids its fast consumption, thus here I am, slowly quench my thirst. I cherish it in my bosom. No other creatures can touch. He asked for mine in exchange of his. ‘None can I give you.’ I threw him a fit. This suffering is my joy. My obsession. My life. He saw it and urged me to stop. ’Hurt me instead’, he said. ‘You’re a coward’, I unmasked his selfish request. Only I shall bear my pain. Only my pain shall I bear. What joy but guilt could I get from hurting others? I’m no beast. Leave me alone till I rot in my bloody pleasures.

Don't lose your light, don't lose your self-love. If I could get all of the children in the world to believe this, and I think I can, counselors would not be needed, and neither would hospitals or medical drugs. This poem advocates love, humanity, and world peace! Well done, Mr. I. Well done indeed!
