Notes About The Poem

Ah, so my first ever kimo; inked for Nette's contest

I have been trying many new things in poetry lately, lol

O Hina, the Hawaiian goddess of moon, melt your fire of desire, let those stars be your tears tonight, and let love unveil the heart in you.

love, the second time around

wear this tiara of tears, weep veiled stars O wedded Hina of heart ~ falling in l o v e again …

A tiara of tears is so fitting for the second time around, the dashed hopes and dreams of the first time around still (and forever) burdening the bride's happiness. Touche, Hiya! :) Gershon

Dear Hiya, your amazing Kimo poem beautifully captures the emotions of experiencing love for a second time. Its imagery, like the "tiara of tears" and "veiled stars," is both haunting and intriguing. The structure adds a unique rhythm that emphasizes the process of falling in love again. Its expressive language and unique style make it shine. Your poetic voice is just wonderful in any form!

This is such a beautiful offering, Hiya!! .. even more so considering it's your first attempt at writing a Kimo.....imagine what you'll come up with "the second time around"! The opening line is powerful, emotionally suggestive, and spiced with alliteration. It is like an actor's grand entrance on stage and prepares us for the rest of the 'show'.... that of falling in love again❤️‍🩹 Warm regards // paul

Very beautiful, Hiya; people were really created primarily for love. We make too much else out of ourselves.

A beautifully wrought kimo—brief yet emotionally resonant. The tiara of tears and veiled stars create a delicate, luminous image of grief transformed by the courage to love again.❤️
