Notes About The Poem

So much violence I have wittiness these last few weeks -- some right in my own neighborhood.

Love Sorrow

blood pouring forth . . . red

           yelling . . . hate r a d i a t i n g

                                      shooting, dying . . . why

“A voice was heard in Ramah, wailing and loud lamentations . . . “ Jeremiah

“. . . so much weeping! Such a burden of lamentation! I will not gloss over the terrible pain and sorrow that comes from vanity and anger, but neither will I forget the final word of resurrection. “ Eugene Petersen

Very powerful, especially when I hear the name of Jeremiah, the weeping prophet. I believe He would be weeping for America today. For as did Israel, so have we drifted away. Oh may the blind see! Take care David and enjoy the weekend.

Yes. So discouraging, I seldom turn on the news. Recently, we have been watching "The Allman Report." It's almost impossible to find a news report that is not slanted, or distorted by opinion. I like the way you relate the hate and anger to scripture. Jeremiah was projecting forward to King Herod and the slaying of all male children under the age of two in Bethlehem, in an effort to kill the infant Jesus.

A very powerful verse David. Seeing violence is very disheartening and stressful. That word...why... a touching piece. Hugs...Laura

More sincere expressions of your compassion for humanity, David. Your catch phrase Live generously should also be Love generously.

I love you comment -- with just one vowel change . . . if you are loving generously you must be living generously -- I am going to start using it . . . be on the look out dear Andrea.

Great write David...I saw two teens get off the bus this morning and start a fight with each other. One pulled out a knife and attacked the other...luckily the police subdued them both within 5 minutes
