Love of My Life

I never knew I could love so much. Horizons opened the day you came squirming Into my out of myself. Pride They say it's deadly But I can't help it when I look at you When I listen to you say words That I never taught you that teach me. Doesn't feel deadly at all. Sixteen is two to the fourth power About to burst into magnificence If I said "Go for it" would it Embarrass you? Of course and who cares and I love you. No matter what Forever and always amen. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Written on my son's sixteenth birthday, reposted here 6 days before his twenty-first.

So raw, it's like you were just speaking to me, but it works so well as a poem. Great job on this, and a sweet story behind it too. I couldn't help but cringe at the second and third lines though.   -KMD
