Love of Christ

LOVE Love has many connotations. For instance, I love my truck; I love pizza; I love my dog; I love my cat; I love the first snowfall of winter, etc. But what is love, really? Love is an emotion that is placed in the minds of people by the Creator. First of all, we are to Love the Lord with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength and love our neighbor as ourself. Then, and only then, can we truly love family in the way it was intended. So, think on these things inspired by God's inerrant Word. Love is patient, love is kind and is not jealous; love does not brag and is not arrogant, love does not act unbecomingly; it does not seek its own, is not provoked, does not take into account a wrong suffered, does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Now faith, hope, and love, abide --- these three things; but the greatest of all of these is love. Therein lies the essence of how we are to view love, extend love, and be the recipient of love. If you show love, you will be loved. May the love of God, and His Son, Jesus Christ dwell in you richly. 30 April 2018 For contest sponsored by Laura Loo

Thank you, Barbara. I enjoy writing with Scripture based poems. It is a sort of silent witness with a subtle underlying prayer for anyone who reads it to see a need for Christ in their life. It's good to see that you already know Him.

I much appreciate your sentiments expressed so well here. The scripture you quoted is my favorite of everything in the New Testament, and it's something I try to remind myself of a lot. It's a great message.
