Love Me More

A month of gentle loving May, With fields awake with flowers; On a woodland path we play, In a moonlit dream’s sweet hours; With a hope that had no fear, A kiss for you, a sigh at last When we held last year And now, all that is past. What a lovely world we knew, When all was bathed in pearly dew; With fireflies lit all aglow, In wistful times of long ago. When your eyes were wet with tears, For all the lost and lonely years; With all the songs that lovers know, That you and I sang so long ago. When the wind was on the river, And starlight danced where shadows shiver Twas then I held you close to me And knew our love would always be, For you took away the hours of sorrow. And loved me more with each tomorrow; So bring me hope and stars above me, And love me more but always love me.

'...starlight danced where shadows shiver,' '...with a hope that had no fear,' such emotive phrasing! This poem is the equivalent of a big old blanket, a cup of hot chocolate and a hug from your special one...

very touching is your poem,,,it takes my soul from me,,,,and i find it running away to find true love,,,,,,it throws my thoughts aside of my everyday world and insists on me longing for a deeper feeling of a emotion that means so much more....

Such lovely lines, each and every single one of them. Inspired by your style, I am currently trying to finish a poem, attempting to express lost love through nature; I think it'll take ages to complete. Just how do you do it?????? All I have been able to do so far is write the first 4 lines. By the way, when I post it, i'll mention my inspiration too so you know.

wow, this is so beautiful and lyrical, elizabeth. Very nice. As for Lily Jane, I can't make her more famous than Truman Capote already did, but I wish I were as famous as Capote.haha!!
