Love me in Black and White

From the keys of your heart a melody rolled back the night
illuminated the sky with its symphony of lights
and fired new stars in the firmament,
each a budding soul, a firework
of colors spun within the
black and white keys
of your heart.

John Hamilton April 12, 2017 at 12:44 PM With or without the music, this lyric does stand on it's own, sometimes we don't have the confidence we should have in our own writing. I really appreciate that. The music totally inspired the lyric though, so to me, without it, the poem is maimed, just a shadow of itself. My best lyric so far is in French 'Pour un instant'. Without the music, it could as well be somebody else's piece, with the music it makes me cry. Strange, Non?

The music is so touching and your words...there is no explanation to properly express how beautifully you have done this. I am in awe.
