IF LOOKS COULD KILL
My dearest darling delectable Medusa I was wearing dark glasses on the day we first met You wanted your hair done, but it was no use-a as venomous snakes should be treated by a vet! It was obvious that you’d once been so pretty But you’d been cursed by that wicked Athena Then been banished from town and the city Your beauty gone; Athena couldn’t have been meaner! I love to caress your angel like wings As writhing asps kiss your hideous ears You’re the one who pulls at my heartstrings I’ll be your love throughout our twilight years One look from you can turn men to stone I wear dark glasses so it doesn’t affect me My love for you has blossomed and grown We’ll be together forever for eternity Sponsored by Viv Wigley Love letter II Contest 3/24/18

I was delighted to be on the list Connie, I was saddened so many people didn't follow the rules - Viv was too kind i wouldn't have placed them at all. i hope he has lots of fun entries for the new contest he needs all the smiles he can get at this sad time. hugs jan xx

Thanks Rob, I sure felt for Viv with some of the poems he received, I agree with his comments on the blog, yours should have placed higher and personally I wouldn't have placed those that didn't follow the simple rules. Let's hope the limerick contest brings smiles for him:-) hugs jan xx

I wondered where you imagination would take you, but never did I imagine Medusa! This was such a fun read, your creativity and humor shines. I don't like it that Athena is responsible because that is the name of Tim's twin, and I'd never put that together before. I can't even look at Medusa in movies and here you are loving on her! Pure Jan, purely good! Poetry hugs ... CayCay

Thanks CayCay I think Athena is such a pretty name! I did a little research before writing the poem but didn't do the whole story... just a little poetic licence and fun as i struggle with romantic writes lol:-) hugs jan xx

If she's for hire, what's she charge to turn men to stone with her look? I can offer her a job(s). Terrific write, Jan, as though you traveled along with Odysseus.

So creative to choose Medusa! No one does that! Yet you did, and it was marvelous. I really like this one, Jan. It's all of that and a bag of chips for me.
