Love Letter Ii

LOVE LETTER II

About a mile past McKinley Pond
Lived a girl of whom I was very fond
Golden tresses framed her face
Seeing her made my heart race

Eyes like copper, sparkling bright
Watching her was quite a sight
Strolling the meadow every day
Picking up pawpaws along the way

I wanted to tell her what was on my heart
But I didn't know just where to start
I decided I'd mail her a little note
And these are the words I finally wrote

You are the girl of my fondest dreams
My thoughts flow like mountain streams
I watch you as you stroll carefree
But don't think you ever noticed me

I see you from my hiding place
And marvel at your gorgeous face
At night my dreams are all of you
I wake up wondering what to do

To let you know I hope to find
The words to ask you to be mine
Now you know just how I feel
So I pray you tell me that you will

She wrote back and said to me
I'll be yours and you will see
That all your dreams will soon be true
Because I feel the same way too

Though I'm not sure who you selected as the recipient of you love, I loved how you loved her via your letter, the tender and sure words, and, of course, the happy ending. The rhyme and flow served your tail quite well, making the entire poem a delight to read! I enjoyed. Poetry hugs ... CayCay

CayCay, what a wonderful comment. It is fiction only in the poem, but my romantic nature is showing itself in every word. Thank you so much for your invaluable support and your kind words.

Nicely written. I'm glad the man was able to muster up the courage to tell the lady what's in his heart. Sadly, many aren't ever able to. We can never know what we may find, if our heart can't speak its truest mind. :)

Hi,Sharon! It seems as if I've found a new Soup friend who is as much a romantic as I. I love your interpretation based on my poem, and I agree. Thank you for your comments.
