Love Is Near, Love Is Near

Love is near, love is near
You stayed by my side, you
     Kept me company at night.
When darkness covered up the
     Light.
I cried out, “Is anyone there, is 
     Anyone there?”
And you said, 
     Love is near, love is near.
Of all the places I’ve been,
Of all the people who’ve come and gone,
Love was near, love was near.
Through bad times and times that
     I fall.
Harsh words were spoken, sometimes
    None at all.
Love was near, love was near.
People come and people go
They made demands and put on a show.
For the words, they speak are the actions
     They seek.
But you came close, you came near
     And said to me,
Love is near, love is near.
You told me I’ll never be alone,
I no longer have to roam,
And that I do have a home,
Love is near, love is near.
You said to me,
“You don’t have to look or search
     To be found,
Love is near, love is all around.
You came calling for me one day,
You then wiped my tears away,
You let me know there’s hope for a 
     Brighter day.
Love is here, love is here.
Love came close, love came near,
Love rested upon me, love is here
Love is here, love is here
Love always was right here.
