Love Is
Love is being happy with a special someone
Being with a partner when the day is done
Never alone in things that you share
Knowing that someone you love is there
Love is never having to apologise
Seeing the love in your partners eyes
Knowing that your love is returned
And that love shouldn’t have be earned
Love is a feeling deep down inside
Something so old that can’t be denied
A best friend first before a lover
Lots of things about to discover
Butterflies churn in the stomach so much
This is quite normal, lose weight and such
Talking for ages by phone through the night
Wanting so much to meet up by sight
Love can be blind but it should be for real
Knowing your partner and how they feel
The first pangs of love are so wonderfully true
That very first time hearing ‘I love you’
Love can be sad if you have to part
If you love a person with all your heart
It’s hard to be apart from your mate
When you meet up again it’s really great
Love is so strong it can pass through time
It may mean you don’t even meet yet that’s fine
When love comes you will certainly know
That special person you won’t want to go
Love is a person who doesn’t just take
Is there while you sleep and when you’re awake
You become vulnerable and open your heart
Deeply in love with that magical start
