Love Is - Sonnet
Our life book is laden with lots of love.
Brief notes and roses and corny love songs;
Kisses, rubbing noses; cooing like doves.
Pledging our love to the one we belong,
A sentence here and a paragraph there.
Wedding bells and honeymoon embraces,
Alone times and skis; with you anywhere!
Romantic sails to exotic places.
Churning ice cream with kids the old-time way.
Grandkids rushing to hug our knees at the door.
The sadness of parents passing away
Left bittersweet memories, rich, not poor.
Beyond feeling, love is life’s best way:
The peaceful love of ordinary days.
