Love In the Kitchen Sink

My hands penetrate warm dish water An effect of silken skin, Rainbow eyes sparkle Spy me as I move within, It’s all I have left for comfort, For life which has given Sure does make one pay, Now all alone with no more dreams When each end of day you drain away. © Harry J Horsman 2021

The pain of loneliness, I feel in your lines. Like water from the sink, each day your energy and dreams drain away. Quite poignant ... !

Thank God for the memories round the kitchen sink, I am sure from heaven she is smiling and saying, "well done Harry, well done "

Who would have thought, pulling the plug on hope, yet one cannot keep a sink full forever, how sad . . . : (

I am re-sending you another comment with a different perspective. A sad poem in which in the soapy water you see rainbow eyes sparkle, as you move within. but at the end of every day your dreams drain away. When we are young, in love and just married we do not understand that life is a circle and we are part of that circle, it is only when we lose someone precious the kitchen sink, will every night remind us of those sparkling eyes! Hugs and blessings, Jennifer.

Good Morning harry - The title of the entry alone made me turn the page with interest. I very much enjoyed the thoughts and play with your beginning words which were upbeat. Sadness surrounds your ending thoughts even through your poetic way. I hope the ending thoughts are your creativity. May this day find your well.

Comparing the warm water, to a loving touch- silky skin. Reflecting in this way, when alone, has been done many times. Yet, that sweet ache still lingers. This is beautiful and emotional, all at the same time. Your thoughts curl softly around me and my heart. Hugs, Brandy

Beautiful written and well described Harry. I could see a lone person going about the duties of the day. There is a lonely feel to this as of one who is now alone in life. Well done. God Bless, JB

Hey Harry you sound sad my fellow Yorkshire pal - your poem is great but there is a melancholy thread in it. It begins quite sensually however, very creative write my friend. Hope you are well. Hugs and blessings, Jennifer.

- Hey Harry - The title is appealing ... verse is deep ... happiness is the rainbow, but ... life ... "Sure does make one pay" .... the price tag on age, my friend :) - An excellent poem :) - Have a lovely weekend :) - hugs // Anne-Lise :)
