Love Has Wings
Diamonds may be a girl’s best friend,
But they’re just glittering rocks to me.
When I’m out walking with my girlfriend,
Love has wings that light me on my feet.
There’s music up there I hear sung true,
And feel as if I’m walking on air;
Radiant beams shine down hues of blue,
On hills and town of envious greens.
With bird in hand, and intentions known,
And my sweetheart dressed in bashful pink;
We hold each other and won’t let go
Like a pair of doves in love in sync.
We zigzag our way to a church sublime,
And aren’t deterred by the faces of gloom.
Happiness exudes from her face and mine;
Love has wings that will carry us through.
